One-of-a-kind quilt made with natural dyes, hand-dyed in small batches in my backyard. The design in a traditional flying geese pattern. 

The yellow fabrics are achieved using the heartwood of the Osage tree. The subtle shifts in tones feel abstract and intuitive.

The blues in this quilt are created using natural Indigo, a dye different than any other using a living fermentation process. To achieve dark blue I immerse the fabric in the dye bath numerous times, allowing the cloth to dry between sessions, layering the color on the cloth creates a darker blue with each dip.

Hand-quilted with cotton Japanese Sashiko thread, padded with cotton batting, and trimmed with hand-stitched double-fold binding.
